Hey there,
I want to start off this newsletter by formally introducing myself. Call me Clover - it’s not my real name, but I cannot go by real name given my job.
I work as a paralegal in Dubai, and while I did choose this career for myself, I’m bored from a lot of things. Specifically, boring men and rude men in suits. And no, there are no Harvey Spectres and Mike Rosses in sight. It's a parade of Patrick Batemans who missed the memo that American Psycho is satire.
Not to mention, people don’t know how to dress. And I get it, it’s a corporate job at a law firm. We don’t need to go full Moschino, but Miu Miu exists.
Even the women are too scared to embrace a splash of colour out of the fear of not being taken seriously, and I HATE that. I hate that we as women need to betray our femininity and fun to appeal to the male-dominated society.
Which is why I promised myself this year to wear fun outfits and accessories every day at this office to subtly say, screw this. In a way, I often feel like Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of a Shopaholic working at Successful Savings, minus the debt part.
Either way, I decided to start this newsletter to make my lunch breaks more enjoyable so the weekly newsletters will most likely be short and sweet, and of course with a bit of funny commentary when available.

This week’s has been a holiday - Eid Mubarak!! - so I’ve been having the time of my life. Until reality hits and I’m back at the office next Monday. But here’s how my week has been so far:

🫒 Bite of the week:
12/10. My friends and I had this for dinner the other day and It was so so good. We did have to order like, four extra maple syrup bottles, but it just elevates the flavour.
Also, the City Walk branch had amazing outdoor views.

Went for a little ocean-vibe for yesterday’s breakfast outing. You can get my earrings here. Tag me if you get them, so I know we’re matching!
